MEXICO CITY TEMPLE

Hey Family,

Tell Lincoln that all he needs to do if he wants me to hold him is say a prayer to Heavenly Father to send his hug to me and then have him hug himself really tight! And then my spirit will feel his hug and send one right back :D

We went to the temple here today! Reason why letter is so short. ya it was closed, but it was way fun nonetheless. the spirit was really strong and it was a very good experience.

Love you all so much :) my favorite scriptures as of late have been 3 nephi 11 and 27, 2 nephi 31, and 2 nephi 33 verses like 2-6. the ones where Nephi talks about why he continues to write.

Yours forever and ever,
Elder King :D

EXERCISING BODY & SPIRIT

Exercise: Yes! I i´m playing soccer about every day with the Latinos here. We play on like a 1/3 size cement court...I´ll admit, when I first got here I wasn´t sure how it would play out. just last week my companion and I were talking about how fat we were getting (don´t worry...i think I´d gained like 3 or 4 pounds) after 3 days of soccer, it either disappeared or turned into muscle. They run me RAGGED. But it´s a good time...I´m good friends with the Latinos now and they help me with spanish and I help them with english. I´m still awful, but at least I´m getting a little better. I hope :) The language is going great. We teach lesson´s every day in spanish. I´m sure it sounds something like "The Holy Ghost...you help...felt...peace?...and happy day". I can talk and and least get my point across with most things... pretty good for 3 or 4 weeks. The Spirit makes everything go amazingly here. The time is FLYING though. It´s really weird.

Anyways...yeah we have been having rain! about every day...but if this is the hottest Mexico gets, I think I want to live here year round! It´s way nice in the morning, hot in the afternoon, then rains in the evening. I think one of my favorite parts about being here is the devotionals and fireside. It´s typically a broadcast from the Provo MTC. We had Elder Holland last night, Elder oaks the week before, and another one of the general authorities the week before. Oh! It was Uchtdorf for the easter devo. He talked for like half an hour about the love Jesus had had for Mary Magdalene. It was really interesting.

It´s amazing to see someone who´s never felt the spirit in their life, at least not really known what it is, feel it for the first time. Especially when they just laugh and get really happy. I´ve got a talk for everyone to read...it´s by Elder Holland. It changed my life. And then to hear him give one in person with the same elements last night...He said "I warn you, I get excited about all this. I could just about vault over the pulpit and throw some fire at ya" He talked about how PmG was born...the problem wasn´t the investigators. It was the missionaries coming home and going inactive. They said Preach my Gospel is to convert you...we leave it up to you to figure out how to convert the investigator.

COMPANION "ELDER HUNT" AND DISTRICT MISSIONARIES

TIME FLYING

Hola mí familiá!

WOW IS THE TIME FLYING!

Thanks for the notes from everyone. They made me laugh and smile and feel all warm and fuzzy inside :) I miss everyone so much! Haha the first thing i´ll do is answer questions :D

The tie was my companions not mine. We have like 4 of the same ties...ha idk why, it just ended up like that. So we wear the same ones sometimes :D Elder Hunt is from plane city, UT got the violin tie pin at the tienda (store). They have a bunch of stuff there...So should I get two shirts from there? a girl one and a guy one and one for me and send the two home do ya think? By the way...we got to be friends with one of the workers here. One of the elders in our district wore a soccer jersey to gym one time, and he started talking to us a few days later. He can get us a soccer jersey from any team in the world except i think australia, with our name and number on the back. I don´t feel draggy at all, haha i feel great :D

Lincoln: Love you tons buddy!!! That´s soooo cool! and you´re welcome for the bed. Ask him how old zac was.

The gospel´s the only thing that really matters in this world...It´s cool you´re having so many chances to share it with people. Thank you for those paragraphs mom. It´s awesome here. Tons of amazing people. Nothing beats home though :D

SHAKIN' IT UP IN MEXICO!

AHH! That is such a cute picture. Thank you very much for it :) and of course I would like copies of those printed pictures! IDK, I didn´t get any printed out before I left :/ It´s been really hard for me to be away from you guys and Brunson. Man I miss that guy. Tell all the kids that I miss them and love them soooooooooooo much. It´s really good to hear from you again.

Yeah the spirit´s way strong here...we´ve all expressed how it´s so common that sometimes you wonder if you´re even feeling it cause it´s there all the time. My pday so far has been awesome!!! it´s nice to be able to wear jeans for a change. But since it´s only like 1030, hopefully the rest will go great. This is mi compañero Elder Hunt!!! He´s super cool and has a way strong testimony. We´re in a casa (house) with 7 other companionships, 2 to a room. Ha 4 are latinos and 4 are americanos...we had an epic pillow fight last night I´ll tell you that!

The food here is really good! I try to eat healthy...small portions, lots of greens. But in general it´s like tacos and stir fry and chicken and stuff...actually reminds me of home so it´s good. TONS of fruit...most of it good...haha passion fruit is wierd! and then there´s this one that´s like a carrot with tons of water...it tastes gross and good at the same time. still not sure how I feel about it. But none of it has made me sick so far so that´s a blessing. For breakfast I usually just get a few yogurt drinks they have here. I think it might be similar to kefir...it says probioticas on it so i´m pretty sure at least. Two of those and some cantaloupe and I feel like I just drank shake in the morning! Speaking of which...there´s a kid in my district, Elder Worthington, who´s a total health nut like us. Right down to Kefir, yogurt, homepathics, he´s homeschooled (apparently like their whole ward is), they´ve got 9 kids in their family (he´s the oldest), live by all their cousins and grandparents...he´s super awesome. They live in vermont and share 200 acres with their family. They have bees, make maple syrup...He´s showed me some pictures and I told him that he better be able to invite me over sometime.
Yes, everything made it through the airport. they didn´t even check my baggage at all. The oils have been a big help. one of the hermanas (sisters) in our district got sunburned way bad. 2 drops of lavender fixed her right up. Like 5 ppl in my district brought oils...it´s kinda funny. Our district is SO MAGNIFICO!!! haha companionships are PERFECTLY paired and our district could not have been better. there´s 8 elders and 4 sisters, and we have a ton of fun together. I feel really close to them already.

Love the stories and parables. Grácias. Good job on the techie side mom! How big was the earthquake??? It was one of the coolest things I´ve ever felt. it was like nothing was moving relative to myself, but my "highly  attuned ballroom muscles" felt about every little jerk and roll.

So far it´s just been way crazy. When I got here it had hailed about 2 inches, people were making snowmen with the hail, we´ve had burning sun, cold rain, thunderstorms, our breath fog in the morning, and an earthquake. I´m beginning to wonder what´s next!!! Oh yeah...btw I´m a Zone Leader! haha bit of a surprise to me seeing as I had only been out here 4 days when they called us. But it´s good and fun. Good prep for the mish as a whole.  Anyways, I´ll probably write back again tonight. sorry if my spellings bad...I´m beginning to say and spell everything the spanish way, so my bad.

Love you all so much!!!

MTC ARRIVAL

Hey Everyone,

This is crazy! Ok the buttons are all in the wrong places so dont worry, im not being lazy, just slow. wow this morning already feels like forever ago...long flights will do that i guess. Fun fact theres 2 sisters here from our stake in ammon...a sister fisher and someone...not sure about her last name yet but shes in my branch so ill find out. its so beautiful here! So many colors and smells...all good ones as of yet! we just had a power out for like 2 seconds and then everything came back on. I guess that's not that weird here (yay! i just found the apostrophe!!!)
Hope everyone is doing ok...all the flights went great, food here is awesome (no i didn't gorge myself...at least not too much ;) and everyone is super nice. as soon as i got here they said go eat and then we'll get you started so everyone was wondering why I didn't have a companion. But I do! Is name's Jacob Hunt. Haven't met him yet, but I'm sure he's awesome. Pictures will follow I'm sure. can't wait to get started with classes tomorrow. My pday's on wednesday, so I'll be able to email again then, but since mothers day is coming up they're letting everyone skype home from the MTC, so I'll need the skype info for dad or whoever I'll skype. ¿Tender mercy? I think yes! It's a good feeling wearing a mission badge...fits just right. Tell everyone I love them!!!I Sorry I'm really scatterbrained right now, but that'll change quick I think. I heard that this Friday I go teach a lesson in Spanish...really hitting the ground running on this one. It's awesome. The MTC's way big! I've got a tennis court right outside from the looks of things. Pday will be way fun. Of course, so will everything else!!! The drivers here are crazy...somehow they manage to fit 6 cars across a 3 lane road with no speed limits and people running all over. I said I think all the drivers should get a medal of bravery or something like that. Anyways! Gotta run! LOVE YOU GUYS LIKE CRAZY!!!!!

SO LONG, FAREWELL...

Hey everyone!

I'm leaving tomorrow so I don't have a ton of time, but I just wanted to let you all know how grateful I am to all of you who came to my farewell! I could feel your love and support, and it really meant a lot to me. I hope that you will all keep in touch! Even just once in a while to let me know if you went to the moon or discovered an ancient underground city ;) Also, my mom will be posting parts of my letters on my blog, so keep checking back for updates!

Have a good two years everyone! I'll see y'all when I get back!!!
