PHILLY - HERE I COME!

Hola amigos y familia!

So from now on, my pday is monday! I leave here in about 12 and a half hours, or 230 in the morning, to head to the airport, and then on to Atlanta and Philly! MAN did those 6 weeks go by fast and slow and hard and easy and all around crazy!!! Pero esta bien ("but it´s ok", I´ll probably say that a lot).

Just letting you know that I´m all safe and sound and ready to head out. Plus I will get to email you when i get to Philly, so all should be good there too. Super excited! And wierded out! Pero esta bien!

I´ve been studying in the scriptures lately and I´ve really found a lot that has made me think. One that especially made an impact on me was 3 Nephi 9:22:

"Therefore, whoso repenteth and cometh unto me as a little child, him will I receive, for of such is the kingdom of God. Behold, for such I have laid down my life, and have taken it up again; therefore, repent, and come unto me ye ends of the earth, and be saved."

I know that the atonement of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is the ONLY way whereby we can receive salvation. I know that with all my heart. And I know that it is real; I know that He is real, and that He lives. Lives and loves us with more grace, majesty, and power than is humanely conceivable. Christ laid down His life for us, regardless of whether or not we would come unto Him. The greatest message we can give to those we serve is that of the atonement: that God, in His infinite goodness, has prepared and orchestrated a way for us to become clean, repent, receive peace and happiness, and most importantly, to return to His presence at the end of our lives and live with Him.

Being the last week, there were a lot of goodbyes...many tears, memories, and a TON of photos. We have all grown so close to the Spirit here, and super close to each other as well! I´ve made many friends while I´ve been here, but I can´t wait to get out into the field and serve!

So one of my teachers, Hermano Lopez, is pretty much the coolest guy I know. He got all of us guys full on luchadore masks!!! Member nacholibre??? ;D Plus some cool handmade bowls...some cool name for them but i have no idea...for all of our moms!

MEXICO CITY TEMPLE

Hey Family,

Tell Lincoln that all he needs to do if he wants me to hold him is say a prayer to Heavenly Father to send his hug to me and then have him hug himself really tight! And then my spirit will feel his hug and send one right back :D

We went to the temple here today! Reason why letter is so short. ya it was closed, but it was way fun nonetheless. the spirit was really strong and it was a very good experience.

Love you all so much :) my favorite scriptures as of late have been 3 nephi 11 and 27, 2 nephi 31, and 2 nephi 33 verses like 2-6. the ones where Nephi talks about why he continues to write.

Yours forever and ever,
Elder King :D

EXERCISING BODY & SPIRIT

Exercise: Yes! I i´m playing soccer about every day with the Latinos here. We play on like a 1/3 size cement court...I´ll admit, when I first got here I wasn´t sure how it would play out. just last week my companion and I were talking about how fat we were getting (don´t worry...i think I´d gained like 3 or 4 pounds) after 3 days of soccer, it either disappeared or turned into muscle. They run me RAGGED. But it´s a good time...I´m good friends with the Latinos now and they help me with spanish and I help them with english. I´m still awful, but at least I´m getting a little better. I hope :) The language is going great. We teach lesson´s every day in spanish. I´m sure it sounds something like "The Holy Ghost...you help...felt...peace?...and happy day". I can talk and and least get my point across with most things... pretty good for 3 or 4 weeks. The Spirit makes everything go amazingly here. The time is FLYING though. It´s really weird.

Anyways...yeah we have been having rain! about every day...but if this is the hottest Mexico gets, I think I want to live here year round! It´s way nice in the morning, hot in the afternoon, then rains in the evening. I think one of my favorite parts about being here is the devotionals and fireside. It´s typically a broadcast from the Provo MTC. We had Elder Holland last night, Elder oaks the week before, and another one of the general authorities the week before. Oh! It was Uchtdorf for the easter devo. He talked for like half an hour about the love Jesus had had for Mary Magdalene. It was really interesting.

It´s amazing to see someone who´s never felt the spirit in their life, at least not really known what it is, feel it for the first time. Especially when they just laugh and get really happy. I´ve got a talk for everyone to read...it´s by Elder Holland. It changed my life. And then to hear him give one in person with the same elements last night...He said "I warn you, I get excited about all this. I could just about vault over the pulpit and throw some fire at ya" He talked about how PmG was born...the problem wasn´t the investigators. It was the missionaries coming home and going inactive. They said Preach my Gospel is to convert you...we leave it up to you to figure out how to convert the investigator.

COMPANION "ELDER HUNT" AND DISTRICT MISSIONARIES

TIME FLYING

Hola mí familiá!

WOW IS THE TIME FLYING!

Thanks for the notes from everyone. They made me laugh and smile and feel all warm and fuzzy inside :) I miss everyone so much! Haha the first thing i´ll do is answer questions :D

The tie was my companions not mine. We have like 4 of the same ties...ha idk why, it just ended up like that. So we wear the same ones sometimes :D Elder Hunt is from plane city, UT got the violin tie pin at the tienda (store). They have a bunch of stuff there...So should I get two shirts from there? a girl one and a guy one and one for me and send the two home do ya think? By the way...we got to be friends with one of the workers here. One of the elders in our district wore a soccer jersey to gym one time, and he started talking to us a few days later. He can get us a soccer jersey from any team in the world except i think australia, with our name and number on the back. I don´t feel draggy at all, haha i feel great :D

Lincoln: Love you tons buddy!!! That´s soooo cool! and you´re welcome for the bed. Ask him how old zac was.

The gospel´s the only thing that really matters in this world...It´s cool you´re having so many chances to share it with people. Thank you for those paragraphs mom. It´s awesome here. Tons of amazing people. Nothing beats home though :D
